Managing stress and building personal resilience is the single most important on-going challenge we face. This course includes powerful tools that enhance beneficial awareness of stress. Participants are also introduced to a wide range of coping strategies for dealing with stress, learning how to transform maladaptive life patterns into adaptive habits of thought and behavior that build personal resilience.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Learn what stress is and how it affects the mind and body
  • Gain awareness of findings on individual and social consequences of stress Be introduced to the Cycles of Health and Disease Stress Management Model
  • Clarify their individual personal stressors and expand options for healthy adaptation
  • Learn techniques for dealing with on-the-job stress, life crisis events and on-going stressors
  • Systematically challenge stressful, unfounded negative assumptions and establish desirable life goals
  • Apply easy, but highly effective techniques to enhance personal resilience Gain valuable website and other resources to enhance personal stress management / resilience in the longer term

Instructional Method
This is an interactive course which applies a variety of instructional methods to engage the participants. These include lectures, self-assessments, group discussion, group exercises, and the integration of real issues from the participants' work and home environments.
